Moving a Meter Supply Position

SP Energy Networks own and maintain the mains electricity supply to your property.

  • Meter Relocation (Less than 2 meters): If you need to move your electricity meter by less than 2 meters on the same wall, your electricity supplier can handle this.
  • Supply Cable and Cutout: We move the supply cable and the mains fuse (cutout). Your electricity supplier will need to move the actual meter.
  • Digging Work: Moving your supply cable may require excavation. Most customers hire third-party contractors for this, but we also offer this service.
  • Standard vs Smart Meter: We only move standard electricity meters. If you have a smart meter, your energy provider will need to move it after we’ve moved the cutout.

We highly recommend consulting with your electrician before you begin any form of work.
